Tried and tested in numerous applications on the high seas: energy chain systems and bearing components from igus withstand the toughest environments. They work reliably and increase fail-safe machine operation in shipyards, on deep-sea crane ships and working vessels or shore power applications in ports.
The advantages of our products:
energy chains for circular movements up to 540°. Quick cable replacement
Stable pin/hook connection for high load and long service life
Combination of lubricant-free Tribo-polymers and corrosion-proof stainless steel
Round guide systems made of stainless steel and sliding elements made from tribo-polymers
Slewing rings for lubrication-free dry operation. Rotary tables as stainless steel version V4A.
Trying things out made easy: with the igus corner, you always have the most recent motion plastics suitable for your individual industry to hand.
We will bring the display to you, assemble it on request, and fill the compartments with the products of your choice. Or you can set it up yourself. As a permanent exhibition or for a limited period of time.
At the compact shipyard in Papenburg, where mainly luxury liners and high-end cruise ships are built, a gigantic crane system is used over a length of almost 200 metres. Energy supply systems from igus are used to supply a crane system with a total of eight crane bridges with energy and media. They provide the necessary flexibility and freedom of movement when manufacturing high-precision steel components.
Quality Boat Lifts uses iglidur P plain bearings in their cranes, which are used in commercial and private marinas, and also by private boat owners to hoist boats out of the water. The bearings allow for an easy adjustment, which works without external lubricants and therefore does not burden the environment. Furthermore, they are resistant to UV radiation and salt water.
In the course of the conversion measures at the Baltic Sea port of Wismar, a ship loader that was previously used exclusively for loading potash was converted for handling different bulk goods in 2000. Since then, igus energy chains and cables have been used as they work reliably and without downtime.
